Examinations scheduled through QTC are very different from visiting your own primary-care provider. The goal of a primary-care provider is to treat the condition(s) and maintain the patient's overall health. The goal of a QTC examination is to gather the medical evidence required by the referring benefit agency to evaluate your claim.

The QTC examiner is following strict instructions from the benefit agency to ensure that all benefit/employment determination requirements are met. Because the QTC examiner will not be treating a condition(s), his or her approach may seem different than the approach taken by a primary-care provider.
