QTC Offers First Course in Disability Assessment Series
Diamond Bar, CA - September 17, 2005 - QTC Medical Services offered the first in a series of seminars to physicians and providers looking to earn continuing medical education credits in the area of disability assessment. Offered in joint sponsorship with University of California, Irvine, "Assessment of Disability and Its Impact on Functionality" was presented on September 16, 2005 at Courtyard by Marriott in Pasadena, California. Attendees had an opportunity to interact with each other, learn from knowledgeable and creative presenters, and receive up to six (6) CME credits.
As the largest private provider of medical and disability examinations, QTC is uniquely positioned to offer this insightful program to medical professionals, employees in the disability determination services of government agencies and private insurance carriers working in the area of workers' compensation.
Keeping pace with the changes in the $400 billion medical and disability industry is imperative for disability determination professionals. Program attendees had an opportunity to learn enhanced disability report and evaluation skills from credentialed faculty in a number of specialties. Topics included:
- Increasing the ability to diagnose true psychiatric disorders and identify malingered psychiatric illnesses;
- Understanding the nuances of hard-to-identify, chronic problems such as Fibromyalgia;
- Learning the use of newly mandated measurement instruments such as the Goniometer, which is used to measure the range of motion of joints in loss of functionality disability evaluations;
- and Increasing the consistency of matching patients' subjective complaints with objective neurological findings.
