Department of Mental Health Awards QTC with PASRR Contract

Diamond Bar, CA - August 26, 2005 - The California State Department of Mental Health (DMH) announced its intent to award the next Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review for Mental Illness (PASRR/MI) contract to QTC Medical Group, Inc. This will be QTC's sixth PASRR contract with DMH and QTC forecasts the need for more than 30,000 examinations over the next three year contract period.

"25 years of disability evaluation experience, coupled with our previous PASRR experience, gives QTC the competitive edge," says QTC president, Steeve Kay. "We know first-hand that this is a demanding contract, and I feel confident that QTC will be able to exceed quality and workload expectations.

PASRR is designed to pre-screen mentally ill patients for admission to the appropriate nursing facilities and maintain ongoing residents' status. By ensuring that nursing facility applicants are appropriately placed, DMH may more effectively service the communities' mentally ill population and ensure proper housing and treatment.
