Bessie Green
Director of Quality Compliance for VA Services- In
Bessie Green is Director of Quality Compliance for Veterans Administration (VA) Services at QTC. Mrs. Green joined QTC in August 2005, after serving as a consultant for two years building a quality department. She is currently responsible for ensuring that examinations completed by QTC meet Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) quality standards and that they are sufficient for VA rating, while developing an experienced staff of former VA employees who are knowledgeable in all aspects of VA regulations, policies and procedures.
Mrs. Green is a retired employee of the Department of Veterans Affairs after 33 years of service. During her VA career, she held VA regional office decision-making and supervisory positions, including Claims Examiner, Senior Claims Examiner, Rating Specialist, Hearing Officer, Chief of Rating Section, and as the Assistant Veterans Service Center Manager. She also served in a supervisory capacity at VA Headquarters in Washington D.C. as Chief of the Compensation and Pension Service Advisory Review Staff. Mrs. Green has trained and mentored employees both locally and nationally, representing the VA at various service organization conferences and has served on national VA committees implementing national VA initiatives.
Mrs. Green holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and French from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina and pursued graduate studies in Public Administration at the University of Georgia. She was selected and attended an intensive summer studies program at Yale University in preparation for graduate studies. Mrs. Green has been recognized for her quality and supervisory performance, and is a 1995 graduate and lifetime member of Leadership VA. She has also served two terms on the Board of Visitors at Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee from 2007-2011.
