Leidos QTC Health Services Supports Veterans at the 40th Annual National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic
Leidos QTC team members join the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Disabled American Veterans (DAV) to support veterans through adaptive sports, community, and connection.
Supporting the Full Veteran Journey
As a proud host sponsor of the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic, Leidos QTC Health Services is committed to supporting veterans not only through essential services, but through experiences that strengthen resilience, confidence, and connection.
Leidos QTC Health Services is the nation’s leading provider of VA disability medical exams, including Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams, helping ensure veterans have access to the benefits they’ve earned. That work is foundational — but it represents just one part of a broader journey.
“Our responsibility doesn’t end with the exam. It’s about understanding the full experience of the veterans we serve and continuously improving how we support them — before, during, and after every interaction.”

The National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic — now in its 40th year — offers a different perspective on that journey.
Redefining What’s Possible
Bringing together veterans from across the country who have experienced life-changing injuries, the clinic provides an environment where individuals can explore new possibilities, test their limits, and redefine what progress looks like.
Through a wide range of adaptive sports and activities, participants engage in experiences that build strength, coordination, and confidence. Whether learning a new skill, pushing beyond a perceived limitation, or experiencing the thrill of sport, veterans are encouraged to take on new challenges in a supportive environment.
The impact extends beyond the activity itself.
For many veterans, the clinic represents an opportunity to reconnect with peers, with purpose, and with a renewed sense of what is possible. It is a place where shared experience becomes a source of strength, and where progress is measured not against the past, but against what can be achieved next.
They are not defined by what has changed. They are defined by what comes next.
A Veteran’s Perspective
At the clinic, the impact of adaptive sports is best understood through the voices of the veterans themselves.
One participant, Rhonda M. Liddell, captured the experience in a poem titled Tapestry of Triumph — a reflection on resilience, renewal, and what it means to move forward.
“Adaptive sports, a balm for wounded souls,
Where newfound purpose, resolute goals.”
“Each endeavor a testament, a flicker in time,
That the human spirit, infinite, can truly climb.”
Her words reflect what many veterans experience throughout the week: a shift from limitation to possibility, and from uncertainty to renewed purpose.
From Experience to Insight
This year, Leidos QTC Health Services sent a delegation of team members representing groups from across the organization. Selected participants stepped outside their day-to-day roles to work directly with veterans — supporting activities, assisting with logistics, and building meaningful connections. As the team helped veterans acclimate to scuba gear, served as sweepers in curling, and assisted during mealtimes, they also gained a deeper understanding of their experiences and their interactions with the VA exam process.
These moments provide important perspective.
They bring into focus the individuals behind the processes — people whose experiences, goals, and challenges extend far beyond any single interaction. That understanding informs how Leidos QTC Health Services approaches access, communication, and the overall experience we deliver.
Moments like these reinforce the importance of listening, learning, and continuously improving how services are delivered — ensuring that each interaction is clear, efficient, and centered on the individual.
Outdoing Yesterday
The veterans participating in the clinic are continuing their mission by setting new goals, embracing fresh challenges, and demonstrating what it means to move forward with purpose.
They are redefining what success looks like.
They are pushing themselves to new limits.
They are outdoing yesterday — on their own terms.
At Leidos QTC Health Services, that mindset matters.
It reinforces a commitment to continuous improvement — developing new ways to reduce administrative burden, increase clarity, and ensure that time and attention are focused where they matter most.
Leidos QTC Health Services is proud to support that mission through our work, our partnerships, and our ongoing commitment to those who have served.
