The strength of Leidos QTC lies in its people and when alumni return, they make our workforce even stronger, just like Chandra Dent has. Dent was born at the Army base Fort Bragg in North Carolina, and today calls Fayetteville, North Carolina home. As a mother of two student-athletes, she spends much of her free time supporting them at football, basketball, volleyball, and cheer events. A former high school tennis player, a self-taught cake pop maker, and a passionate home cook, Dent brings the same creativity and energy to her role at Leidos QTC. Although she is not a Veteran herself, military life has always been part of her story. Her father served in the Army, and her children’s father recently retired from the Army.

Dent first joined Leidos QTC as a Schedule Coordinator Sr., where she supported multiple clinics by performing RECON duties and verifying mileage, ensuring proper scheduling, preventing duplicate diagnostics, and correcting errors before appointments took place. It was meaningful work that sharpened her attention to detail while strengthening her commitment to Veterans.

When she decided to return to the company, it was the supportive and flexible work environment that drew her back. She stated, “I was able to get my children to and from school with no issues. I believe the work life balance is important and Leidos QTC seems to agree and take the work life balance seriously. The company encourages you to succeed in other departments and makes you feel comfortable moving around and up within Leidos QTC.” Now serving as a Medical Case Specialist II on the Homebound team, Dent has stepped into a new chapter, one fueled by purpose. “I mostly missed helping the Veterans,” she said. “It gave me joy to know I was working for a company focused on serving them. That feeling of gratitude shows up daily for me now knowing that I am back and able to continue to serve our brave Veterans.

Dent is eager to continue her education and build her career at Leidos QTC. Her advice to alumni considering a return: “Just do it! Apply. You won’t regret it. Leidos QTC to me means growth and opportunity.”

We shall not cease from exploration / And the end of all our exploring / Will be to arrive where we started / And know the place for the first time.
