Jasmine Jones
Jasmine Jones reflects the heart of what makes Leidos QTC Health Services special. Jones is a proud mother of two boys, a bonus daughter, and
now a first-time homeowner. “I was born as a Navy brat as my father was in the service at the time,” she said. Inspired by her father’s service, she joined the Navy after high school and served four years as a hospital corpsman at Navy Medical Center Portsmouth. Her experience across multiple clinics deepened her love for healthcare, especially her time in Labor and Delivery, which remains her favorite rotation.
Her first chapter with Leidos QTC began in 2015 as a medical assistant in the Virginia Beach office. Before relocating back to North Carolina, her dedication earned her a promotion to Disability Evaluation Coordinator. She said, “I returned to Leidos QTC because I never had a complaint about the company. When I started with QTC they were under Lockheed Martin and transitioning to Leidos. I was able to travel to other facilities during my employment and no matter what, I never met a stranger. Coming back to the team, the vibes are still the same.”
The moment her current team welcomed her on board, she felt right at home again—valued, supported, and part of a family. Now serving on the Quality Assurance (QA) team for the Eastern region, she approaches each case with the heart of someone who truly understands the Veteran experience. Jones reflected, “I honestly missed helping the Veterans and I did not even realize that I missed it until I came back. My brothers and sisters have served our country and now I get to be a voice for them again! That is so rewarding!”
Her goals for the future are to give back to those who served. She said, “My main goal is to help as many Veterans as I can while I am here at Leidos QTC. Whether that is in my role as a QA or if I am promoted or transferred to another position. The Veterans come first.” Jones also shared a word of encouragement for alumni considering a return to take the leap: “Do it! If you have been a part of the family before, then you know what you are missing out on!”
Perhaps Jones’ most powerful reflection is how she sees the company today. Being a disabled Veteran and having personally gone through the process of filing a disability claim, she shared, “Leidos QTC for me is seen as a bridge that I once had to cross myself and now that I’ve done it and now a part of the process, I am now the hands that strengthen that bridge for those coming after me.”
We shall not cease from exploration / And the end of all our exploring / Will be to arrive where we started / And know the place for the first time.
