2023 Philanthropy Wrapped: How Leidos QTC Gave Back

❮ Back to Newsroom

Giving back to our communities is a core part of who we are at Leidos QTC.

We provide our employees with resources and opportunities to give back through our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), and various other company initiatives. Our employees organize initiatives and events around a shared cause, and we provide them with the resources to make it happen— whether they need a budget, marketing assistance, mentorship, or logistical support.

Here’s a look back at how Leidos QTC made a difference in 2023.

American Heart Association (AHA)

For the seventh consecutive year, we participated in the AHA Heart Walk. We exceeded our goal and raised $11,903.25 to support the AHA’s premiere event that raises funds to save lives from heart disease and stroke.

American Red Cross

We partnered with the American Red Cross to host two blood drives during a national blood shortage. Staff donated 62 units of blood— saving up to 222 lives! Through drives such as ours, the Red Cross is able to continue its lifesaving efforts of providing patients with critically needed blood.

Duarte Community Service Council

The San Dimas Women’s Network hosted a Thanksgiving food drive to benefit local nonprofit Duarte Community Service Council. Employees contributed more than 100 canned and dry food items, which provided food to more than 300 families. They’ve also assisted with other initiatives, such as providing hygiene packages for people experiencing homelessness.

Families Helping Families

Our Columbia Clinic donated more than 50 items to a family in need. The team supported the Families Helping Families adopt-a-family program, which provides families who apply for assistance with food, clothing, and gifts during the holidays. They worked together to collect every item on their adopted family’s wish list.

Friends of West Covina Police K9s

San Dimas ERGs Hispano-Latinx Leidos Asociación (HoLA), Military Alliance Group (MAG), and the Women’s Network partnered to host a toy drive for children during the holidays. Employees answered the call and donated 202 new toys.

Leidos QTC also donated an additional 125 new toys (valued at $1,717) to maximize our donation impact. The drive supported the non-profit Friends of the West Covina Police K9s initiative of delivering toys to children in surrounding cities.

Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center

Our Riverside Clinic hosted a donation drive to benefit a local animal shelter with approximately 50 items. Staff collected items on wish lists to benefit 10 cats and 10 dogs waiting for their forever home at the shelter.

National MS Society

Employees joined forces and participated in Bike MS, a cycling fundraiser event that supports multiple sclerosis (MS) research and treatment. Their team raised $11,674 for the National MS Society to help fund its mission of curing MS and empowering those affected by it.

National Veterans Wheelchair Games

Employees attended the 42nd National Veterans Wheelchair Games to support Veteran athletes by assisting with various weeklong duties. Leidos QTC volunteers helped the sports events run smoothly and embraced the opportunity to connect with Veterans. The games are the world’s largest annual wheelchair sports and rehabilitation event for Veterans.

Salvation Army

The San Antonio Women’s Network volunteered at a local Salvation Army to assist with various tasks, such as cleaning and organizing the facility. They also packed 60 backpacks for children who reside at the organization to equip them with learning tools.

Wounded Warrior Project (WWP)

Our San Antonio and Nashville teams raised a total of $1,285 to propel the WWP’s mission of empowering injured Veterans and providing them with life-changing programs. The teams participated in the WWP Carry Forward 5K, a one-of-a-kind 5K that raises funds for Veteran injury costs.
